About me…
My journey with clay began in 2006 when I joined a weekly pottery class at Harrow College, which proved to be the beginning of a new and very exciting chapter in my life.
In 2010 after 36 years as a teacher, I took early retirement to fulfil my passion to work full time as a ceramist. I bought a kiln and haven’t stopped!
In 2011, I studied part time for one year at West Herts College, Watford and there met a fabulous group of potters. We formed a group called ‘All Fired Up’ and have continued to meet regularly ever since.
All my work is influenced by the natural world – from orchids at Kew to pebbles on a beach. Their intricate patterns and textures are represented in my decoration. My work is hand-built and individually painted using underglazes and oxides, and includes spherical planters with organic textures and a range of black ‘tropical’ vases and jars with detailed images of plants. Sculpted lizards, frogs, plants and fish also appear in much of my work.
